FAQs

You Ask - We Answer

How long does therapy take?

Individual sessions are 50 mins.

Parent training sessions range from 60-90 mins.

Group sessions vary.

As for the number of sessions needed, that depends on presenting concerns and level of need. We can discuss this further during your free consultation.

What ages do you work with?

4 years old trough young adulthood

We will see children as young as 2 years old, with a parent present in the session; 4 years and above can be seen without a parent as long as the child is comfortable.

Please feel free to ask us about any concerns you have related to your child's age or developmental stage during your free consultation.

What does a play based therapy session look like?

Play based therapy looks very different from how you probably envision. It is not a therapist sitting in a tiny chair asking your child questions while they play with toys.

Instead, it looks like a therapist joining in meaningful, child-centered play, where the child gets to make all the decisions, to choose what happens and what doesn't, to make up or break rules as they see fit, and to work through developmental milestones and traumas as they need.
